FUNDING
The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati provided funding for a planning grant to determine what resources existed for returning offenders in the NKY area, as well as what gaps existed to address.
The NKY Reentry Planning Team determined that returning female offenders needed the most assistance. The NKY Female Reentry Project is designed to provide intensive case management services for female offenders with severe mental illness and/or substance abuse issues.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
Kentucky's female offender population grew by more than 750% from 1993 to 2003. This population growth has forced community partnerships to create programs for children of incarcerated parents as well as the offenders that return.
